Elizabeth Bonhote

-
During the later eighteenth century EB published seven novels (one historical) and a conduct book. Her volume of poetry dates from the next century. The conduct book had the greatest success. On most issues she is stereotypically conservative, but she shows humour and insight about the predicament of the woman writer. She was clearly serious about her own career.
