ESVM 's next sister, by marriage Norma Ellis , became an actress. She it was who inherited and preserved all her eldest sister's papers.

ESVM 's mother died unexpectedly in early February 1931, after a brief illness. They took the body to Steepletop (using a sleigh for the last stretch, when the snow got too deep for wheels).

She was buried at Steepletop, and the forest path which covers the nearly half a mile from the house to her grave now offers eleven quotations from her poems for reading along the way. Her...
