In the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century Mary Stockdale (daughter and sister of publishers, and a publisher herself) issued two collections of poetry (one including a short autobiography), besides individual poems, and several books for children, one of them translated.

By March 1798 MS published her poetry volume The Effusions of the Heart through the firm of her father John Stockdale; this was apparently her earliest publication. Bibliographic Citation link.
Soon after 15 January 1821 MS published at her own press her elegy The Wedding Ring, A Funereal Offering, to the memory of Isabel Stockdale, wife of Jeremiah Stockdale, who died this day, on her forty-seventh wedding anniversary. Bibliographic Citation link.
13 June 1853 MS died at White Hall in Hayes, Middlesex, aged eighty, from erysipelas and debility. He was buried at Hayes three days later. Bibliographic Citation link.
