Works By
Emily Spender, writing in the later nineteenth and the early twentieth century, published half a dozen novels which combine romance with, in some cases, a thesis about politics or gender politics. Her rate of output was not high. In her youth she gave speeches in favour of women's suffrage; late in her career she published a translation and (jointly) an anthology of patriotic poetry.
