During her extended career in the earlier half of the twentieth century, Winifred Peck published twenty-five books—mainly novels, with history, biography, a children's book, and two volumes of memoirs—as well as individual stories and girls' school stories. Her novels include detective fiction.
By December 1882 Winifred Frances Knox, later WP, was born in Oxford, the third among six children. Her birth was registered at Headington, Oxford, this month. Bibliographic Citation link.
By July 1952 WP published a volume of memoirs about her educational experience: A Little Learning, or a Victorian Childhood (of which title the opening phrase comes from Alexander Pope). Bibliographic Citation link.  scholarly note link.
