Emmeline Pankhurst's writings, produced during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, range from published political speeches to autobiography. All concern her lifelong struggle for women's emancipation.
14 July 1858 According to her own account, generally accepted, Emmeline Goulden, later EP, was born on this day in Manchester, the eldest of ten children. Her birth certificate, however, says the 15th.
September 1895 EP presented a paper at the North Western Poor Law Conference, entitled "The Powers and Duties of Poor Law Guardians in Times of Exceptional Distress".
