Elizabeth Goudge, a popular writer of the mid-twentieth century, published about forty titles: fifteen novels (many of them historical) and some stories for children, as well as early plays, religious non-fiction, anthologies. and an autobiography.

October 1932 The first of EG's plays to be professionally staged, "The Brontës of Haworth", opened at the Charta Theatre in London. Bibliographic Citation link.
