Georgiana Craik wrote over thirty novels, works for children, and contributions for periodical publications, between the mid and the late nineteenth century. Her novels frequently use sensational scenarios, and often feature self-sufficient heroines who prove to be more capable than the men they marry. Although there is a modern perception of her work as "undistinguished", Bibliographic Citation link.
