Best known for her children's books situated in a magical house, Green Knowe, Lucy Boston published, during the later twentieth century, twelve of these in all. She also wrote memoirs, two adult novels, and poetry.
10 December 1892 Lucy Maria Wood (later LB) was born at 8 Scarisbrick Street, Southport, Lancashire, the fifth of six children. Bibliographic Citation link.
1954 Lucy Boston published both Yew Hall, a novel for adults, and later in the year a book she meant as another of the same genre but which became the first of her children's books: The Children of Green Knowe. Bibliographic Citation link.
